Long Beach, Los Angeles County
The Aquarium of the Pacific opened in June 1998 on Rainbow Harbor, at the edge of downtown Long Beach. The nonprofit aquarium is organized around the regions of the Pacific Ocean, from the kelp forests off Southern California to tropical reefs. Sea otters, sharks and thousands of other animals live in its exhibits.
